New Abstracts: Hebrew Rashi Alphabet

The RASHI ALPHABET series of acrylic paintings was created in 2023, when I was 94 years old. This series is part of a group of recent series of paintings I did to express the chaos in our world through the presentation of lartely illegible texts. I had been fascinated by the Rashi script since reading Rashi commentaries during my Talmud classes at the Reali School in Haifa, Israel, in the 1940s, and was delighted to find a stencil that would allow me to render that alphabet in my paintings.
